Within the framework of the technical aid that the Government of Ecuador delivers throughout the national territory, this week, in the province of Manabí, Jorge Muñoz, 78, received a wheelchair for the first time that will allow him to move more easily around their home and attend their medical appointments in better conditions.

He was one of the 33 beneficiaries with the delivery of 41 technical aids by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) in the canton of El Carmen during the event called Mobile Inclusive City developed by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES).

Within these technical mobility and self-care aids to guarantee the right to health of this target group, there are wheelchairs, postural chairs, walkers, diapers, anti-decubitus mattresses, bath chairs, axillary crutches, canes, among others.

“The National Government, through the Ministry of Public Health, maintains the commitment to promote actions that allow the delivery of comprehensive care to people with disabilities. We bring words of hope for Manabitas and Ecuadorian families”, pointed out Edy Quizhpe, National Director of Disabilities, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care of the MSP.

With the strengthening of this initiative, the MSP brings health services closer to people with disabilities in order to facilitate their reintegration into the family, work, and educational spheres, among others.
