company Rochester Electronics announced that it is starting to supply manufactured components Skyworks Solutions which have reached their end of life (EOL) stage. “Rochester welcomes the opportunity to provide Skyworks mixed signal and RF products and solutions. This offering strengthens Rochester’s position in the market and allows it to serve a wider range of global sectors, and we hope that we can continue to strengthen our relationship with customers all over the world”, said Mark Gore, Director of Supplier Development at Rochester.
The American Rochester company is one of the largest component suppliers in the industry, and operates in a unique format: the company manufactures chips whose serial production has been discontinued for various reasons, and supplies them with full certification from approximately 70 original manufacturers. In fact, it operates in the format of a distributor that holds a stock of components that it manufactures. The company reported that it currently has an inventory of 15 billion components from 200,000 different SKUs. In addition, it has an inventory of 12 billion pieces of silicon, which allows it to provide a Build-To-Order (BTO) service.
The Skyworks company from Texas, USA, specializes in the development and production of analog chips, RF components and mixed signal components. In July 2021, it acquired the infrastructure and vehicle division of California-based Silicon Laboratories for approximately $2.75 billion in cash.
