Magdalena Czyszczoń took ninth place in the 5000 m, and Karolina Bosiek was 14th in the 1500 m at the speed skating world championships that ended on Sunday in Heerenveen. On that day, in the men’s competition – at 1,500 and 10,000 m – Poles did not start.

The Dutch defending champion turned out to be the best at 5000 m Irene Schouten, which in great style – with a score of 6:41.25 – broke the track record. The silver was won by Norway Ragne Wiklund (a loss of 4.90), and the bronze medal was won by the Czech legend of this discipline Martina Sablikova – 6.53 Sat Schouten.

Czyszczoń rode as the first of the entire group, alone on the track. She achieved a time worse than the winner by 34.42.

Karolina Bosiek – fourteenth over the distance of 1500 meters – lost 5.47 s to the winner, who turned out to be Dutch Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong. Silver – as in the 5000 m – was won by Norway’s Wiklund (0.76 behind), and bronze by Japan’s Miho Takagi (0.85 behind the Dutch).

Poles did not compete in men’s competitions on the last day. The American Jordan Stolz won the 1500 m race – 1:43.59, while the Italian Davide Ghiotto – 12:41.35 turned out to be the best in the 10,000 m race.
