Barcelona strengthened its lead in the Spanish Football League by defeating Valencia 1-0 on Sunday, in the matches of the 24th stage of the competition.
Barcelona moved away in first place with 62 points, 10 points ahead of its traditional rivals and defending champions Real Madrid (52).
Real Madrid will play outside its bases shortly against Real Betis, fifth-placed (40 points), on the grounds of the “Benito Villamarin” stadium.
Barcelona scored the only goal against Valencia, the young Brazilian winger Rafinha, with a perfect header in the 15th minute.
While the match referee sent off Barcelona player Ronald Araujo in the 59th minute, and his colleague Ferran Torres missed a penalty kick in the 55th minute.
