Coimbatore: For the first time in Coimbatore, the ‘Pro Boxing’ boxing match was held yesterday at a hotel on Mettupalayam Road.
On behalf of ‘F7 Hub’ and ‘Grassroots Boxing’ Promotion and Management Company, with the permission of Boxing Council of India, a ‘boxing’ competition of many leading boxers of the country was held in Coimbatore for the first time.
In this, 22 boxers of national and international level from various regions including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Delhi participated.
In various weight categories, 11 competitions were held. In the 52 kg weight category, Pratish, Ismail Ullakhan, in the 58 kg category, Bharani, in the 61 kg category, Venkatachalam, Jaipal, in the 63 kg category, Srinivas, in the 66 kg category, Mohammad Irfan, Sabari, Pavithran, and Rohit Chowdhury won.
Prizes including cash were given to the players who won the competition.
