The commander of the Central Command, Major General Yehuda Fox, met today (Sunday) with the mayors and the heads of the regional and local councils in Yosh and in the Bekaa and Emekim region.
Fox emphasized that the IDF, in a joint effort with all security agencies, foiled hundreds of terrorist attacks in the past year. According to him, the security forces will continue their mission to fight terrorism in a variety of ways.
During the meeting, the operational challenges in the sector and the efforts being made to prevent escalation were presented.
“The commander of the Central Command emphasized the seriousness of the recent incidents of nationalist crime and noted that they must be clearly condemned,” the IDF said.
General Fox also emphasized that one of the tasks of the command is to assist and strengthen the defense components and security infrastructures of the settlements in the area.
“We are in a challenging period and the cooperation between the Central Command and the councils and settlements is an essential security component,” concluded the General of the Central Command.
