Personal income doubled during BJP rule

by time news

After the BJP came to power at the centre, the per capita income in the country has doubled to Rs 1.72 lakh.

At the same time, unequal distribution of income among people continues to be a major challenge.

In the financial year 2014-15 when the BJP took charge at the centre, the per capita income in the country was Rs.86,647. This has increased to Rs 1,72,000 in the current financial year 2022-23, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO). This is an increase of about 99 percent. Personal income has doubled in the last 8 years.

The NSO has stated that the personal income has decreased in the financial year 2020-21 due to the spread of the corona virus, and has indicated that the personal income has increased in the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Regarding this, former professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jayati Ghosh said, “If we look at the personal income without taking inflation into account, it has increased very little. Moreover, the income of the top 10 percent of the country’s population has increased significantly. The income of the middle class is continuously decreasing. “Unequal distribution of income among people is continuing,” he said.

Nagesh Kumar, director of the Research Center for Industrial Development, said, “Per capita income is the average income of India. Although it has risen, the income gap between people has not changed. The property value of the rich is continuously increasing. The income of the poor at the lower level remains the same,” he said.
