  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained on Sunday that his army was engaged in a battle “painful and difficult” against Russian forces in the Donbas regionin the east of the country, where the hotly contested city of Bakhmout is located.
  • The acting mayor of Zaporizhia, in southern Ukraine, declared Monday a day of mourning, after 13 people were killed in the shelling that hit a residential building on March 2. Five people remain missing as search and rescue operations have been completed.
  • Three dead in shelling in Kherson oblast, and two in Kharkiv. A woman and two children were killed in the village of Darivka, Kherson Oblast, and a couple died in the village of Budarky, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office said, Sunday on Telegram.
  • The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that its armed forces struck an Azov regiment command centera unit of the Ukrainian national guard, in the south-eastern part of Zaporizhia Oblast.
  • Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu said on Sunday that Ankara was working to extend the deal on Ukrainian grain exports from ports on the Black Sea which is soon to expire.
