Pension reform: more than 60% of strikers in the primary this Tuesday, March 7

by time news

A figure dreaded by parents. More than 60% of strikers are announced in the primary this Tuesday, January 7, against 50% on January 31, according to a figure published on Monday by the Snuipp-FSU, the first union in the profession.

The highest strike rate among teachers dates from January 19, during the first day of action, with 42.35% in primary education and 34.66% in secondary education, according to the ministry. That same day, the unions had identified up to 70% of striking teachers in primary schools and 65% in colleges and high schools.

Disturbances, the extent of which is still unknown, are also to be expected this Tuesday in colleges and high schools, as well as in nurseries.

In higher education, universities, such as in Montpellier (Hérault) or Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), have already decided to close their doors. “The mobilization must continue and already promises to be very important on Wednesday March 8 as part of the day of struggle for women’s rights”, adds the union in its press release. “Beyond that, the battle must continue so that the government finally hears reason and renounces its unacceptable project”, continues the union, which calls on school teachers and those accompanying students with disabilities (AESH) “to decide in general assembly on the follow-up to be given to the mobilization, including the renewal of the strike”.

The education intersyndicale, bringing together the seven main teacher unions, had called for strikes to allow “total closure of schools, colleges, high schools and services” on March 7.

The teachers’ unions, in recent days, had called for the closure of all establishments in France. It is for them to contribute to the “blocking” of the country, promised by the unions to harden the movement and to make flinch the executive which to date has never shown any doubts, simply conceding to the right modifications of the reform, currently under consideration in the Senate. This is how, for example, the consideration of long careers has been adjusted.
