In addition, residents in need will receive food support six more times this year – in April, June, August, October and December. Together with the distribution of food in June and December, residents will be provided with assistance in the form of hygiene products, according to a press release from the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor.

Low-income residents will receive a support basket consisting of UAT milk, canned pork, canned green peas, pearl barley, buckwheat, instant oatmeal with fruits or berries, and wheat flour.

Packages will be pre-packed and prepared for takeaway.

The distribution is organized by local government administrations and two non-governmental organizations: the Food Bank Charitable Foundation (Maisto bankas) and the Lithuanian Red Cross community.

Support will be distributed in more than 600 points throughout Lithuania.

To find out the exact time of the distribution of support, residents should contact their municipality or search for information on the websites of the administration of their municipality and the Food Bank.

Food can be obtained by residents whose average monthly income per family member currently does not exceed 235.50 euros per month. In the event that there are objective reasons, in the manner prescribed by the administration of the municipality, support can be provided in excess of the established amount per month. Exceptions and the amounts applicable to them are determined by each municipality individually.
