RN: May 1, Jordan Bardella will hold his “Nation Day” in Le Havre

by time news

No more Joan of Arc’s party at the RN, welcome to the “nation’s day”! The president of the RN Jordan Bardella presented, this Monday, to the members of the national office of his party the contours of his celebration of May Day. As already mentioned by Le Parisien, it is a question of replacing the traditional parade of homage to the Maid, the last of which was held in 2015 and which has since withered into a simple wreath laying in front of a statue in one great popular festival.

And make it one of the symbolic markers of the RN under the Bardella era. “The health crisis has penalized the movement for May 1, but we maintain the social aspect”, explains the young president of the RN to Parisian.

The choice of Le Havre, “a working-class town, run by Édouard Philippe”

Direction Le Havre, a “working class city, popular but also held by Édouard Philippe, an assumed liberal”, one explains in the entourage of the presidency of the party. And a probable future presidential candidate… A more “disruptive” geographical choice than the traditional working-class lands of the Nord or Pas-de-Calais.

And in a region, Normandy, where the RN has never held major national events and where it has deputies for the first time. However, the destination may change in future editions. “Edouard Philippe carries the measure of the most brutal pension reform with his departure at 67, we want to affirm that the RN is the first social shield of the French”, explains Jordan Bardella.

Innovation also on the form: the speeches will follow one another on a central stage during a big meal where nearly a thousand people are expected. This event, half-public meeting, half-banquet, devoted to the theme of work, May 1 requires, will be held in the presence of Jordan Bardella and Marine Le Pen who will close it with their speeches.
