Rabbi Nachum Tamarin, a Chabad emissary working in remote villages in Ukraine, spread his legs throughout the year among the villages and towns and helps many Jews living there. Despite the war, Rabbi Tamarin continues to work in his mission.

As Purim approached, Rabbi Tamarin realized that in order to be able to deliver parcels to all the Jews in the villages, he would have to use the Ukrainian postal services.

Rabbi Tamarin packed a thousand packages of parcels, which were sent to him ahead of time by JRNU – the rescue center of Chabad in Ukraine, and wrote on each shipment the exact address according to arranged lists.

“Sending parcels is always warm to receive,” says Rabbi Tamarin, “but when you live in a remote village in Ukraine, and live under the fire of war, it is much more than that. The joy is very great. In the parcel deliveries we included rattles, wine, ears of manna, mini scrolls, the Esther scroll And more Purim items.”

Rabbi Tamarin also sent and organized Purim parties in 53 centers. “We sent refreshments, sausages, wine, bottles of juice, and more to parties. In some places we also organized visits by people on our behalf.”
