Poitiers: a woman dies falling from a building, her husband in police custody

by time news

An involuntary fall or a murder? It is up to the Poitiers judicial police to try to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. This Monday, a 39-year-old woman of Eritrean nationality died after falling from her apartment on the 5th floor of a building. Investigators are trying to find out if the victim accidentally fell or if it was her husband who pushed her. The second track is currently preferred.

A spousal murder investigation targeting her husband, a 42-year-old Eritrean, has also been opened, prosecutors said, confirming information from The New Republic. The couple have been living together in the building for only a few months.

“No information” on acts of violence

“She fell right there”, entrusts a resident of this resident of a building in Poitiers Beaulieu to our colleagues by showing a square of grass below the windows of the building. “They weren’t talking about them”assured a neighbor of this couple, still at The New Republic.

The couple’s three children have been cared for by child welfare services. The public prosecutor of Poitiers, Cyril Lacombe, assured that he “did not have any information at this stage” on whether this woman had already reported violence by her spouse.
