Police recovered the body of a youth lying with his hands tied on the national highway in Gopalmath town of West Bengal’s Durgapur district.
A thorough investigation revealed that the deceased was Avinash Jan (19 years old) from Binazidi Nagapally area of Durgapur. His body was found dead with his hands tied which made the police suspicious.
After this, it was revealed that Avinash had an affair with Abreen Katoon which ended in a dispute. Following this, the police came to know that Afreen, a resident of Nain Nagar, Durgapur, was in contact with her new boyfriend, Bittu Kumar Singh, a resident of Bijupara area.
With the information given by Abreen, Bittu was caught and interrogated and shocking information came out. According to the police, when Abreen fell in love with Bittu, she wanted to stay away from her old lover.
But Avinash, who does not know that, is still in love with Abreen. Due to this, both of them have hatched a conspiracy to kill Avinash.
Accordingly, he is invited to attend a party. A party was arranged at Bittu’s house. When there is no one in his house, Avinash is given liquor.
Intoxicated, Abreen takes an iron rod and hits Avinash on the head.
When Avinash faints and falls, Pithu picks up a broken glass bottle and hits it on Avinash’s head, breaking it. When Avinash died in the attack, both tied his hands together.
Did he die before that? Or tied hands after death? The details are not known. After that, they loaded the body on a two-wheeler and dumped it on the national highway, the police officer said.
Police arrested both of them yesterday. The police will produce them in the Durgapur sub-divisional court today.
