The health insurance industry has evolved a lot in recent years. Bupa México (Sanitas) and BBVA México have jointly launched the “Tu médico particular” insurance. This is the first fully digital health insurance marketed in Mexico.

As its creators have explained, said health insurance uses the latest technologies to offer video consultations and measurement of vital signs, as well as home doctor and medication services.

This product combines the experience of the BBVA México insurer in the development of digital solutions, with the experience of Bupa México in the development of health solutions with telemedicine applications, as well as the most extensive network of medical providers in the country.

Thanks to the app of this digital health insurance, customers will be able to access medical video consultations 24 hours a day, with the support of top-level specialists. Likewise, “Your private doctor” also incorporates digital programs in psychological care and nutrition, among other specialties. Through this service, guidelines, recommendations and personalized follow-up are offered without the need to travel, all via cell phone.

The app, a pioneer in Mexico, with the latest technology in measuring vital signs. Through a 30-second selfie video, the app, which uses Artificial Intelligence, is capable of detecting the user’s heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, and stress level. These data can be shared with the doctor, who will assess the patient’s state of health, as well as the most appropriate guidelines or treatments in order to carry out constant health monitoring and preventive measures, if necessary.

This new product also incorporates other services such as a doctor at home, delivery of medicines or ambulance in case of emergencies. In case you didn’t know, Sanitas is in charge of the Europe & Latin America market unit, which includes Bupa Mexico, a Bupa subsidiary in that country. In January 1932, it acquired Vitamédica, which had 87,000 clients, in addition to the 60,000 of Bupa México.
