On the occasion of the International Women’s Day celebrations on March 8, and in perfect timing with Purim, the exhibition “On Women and Shoes” by the designer Kobi Levy opened yesterday, which will be open to the general public for free, for a week at the Ofer Mall in Ramat Aviv. Levy is a shoe designer with a conceptual and artistic approach, whose name is known worldwide for his bold designs. Already as a child he was interested in shoes and researched the subject in depth. During his studies at the “Thelma Yelin” School of the Arts, majoring in plastic arts and then at Bezalel, according to him, the shoes found their way into his works, until they became the central object around which his design studies were formed.

In 2010, Kobi Levy’s shoes were revealed for the first time when photos of them were uploaded to a simple web page. The photos began to receive many responses, and from there the road to requests for photographs, invitations to participate in music videos and TV programs, proposals for exhibitions all over the world, and more, was short. Levi’s shoes have appeared on the most coveted stages in the world and in well-respected international magazines such as CNN.com, Vogue Italy, The Telegraph and music videos of great singers such as Lady Gaga and Fergie.

In July 2011, the Kobi Levi Footwear Art studio opened and an online store where you can order the shoe models. All shoes are sculpted and handmade in a studio in Tel Aviv and are offered in a limited edition of up to twenty pairs only.
