Cairo: Two people were killed and 16 injured after a train derailed in northern Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Transport of Egypt, a passenger train derailed on Tuesday after colliding with the platform of the railway station in Ghaliup, Cairo, Egypt. Out of which, 2 people died on the spot. 16 people were injured.
About 20 ambulances have been dispatched to the spot to help the injured.

Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir has ordered the formation of a committee to find the cause of the derailment and “find those responsible”.
Earlier in 2021, two trains collided in Egypt, killing 32 people and injuring 84, according to government reports.
A train heading from Aswan to Cairo rammed into the rear of a train heading from Luxor to Alexandria after an unidentified person pulled the emergency brake, the Egyptian Railways Authority said in a statement.
