On Toompea, in the house of Stenbock, negotiations began today between the delegations of the Reform Party, Eesti 200 and the Social Democratic Party on the formation of a ruling coalition in the country.

“We want to conclude a coalition agreement from which all Estonians will benefit. The priorities of the Reform Party for the coming years are to confidently defend Estonia, improve the quality of life for everyone, and ensure economic growth through a green turn,” said Kaja Kallas, chairperson of the Reform Party.

“For the Social Democrats, the negotiations focus on improving the living standards of people, reducing regional inequalities, creating jobs, climate change and supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population,” said party chairman Lauri Läänemets.

“The priorities of the Eesti 200 in coalition negotiations are education reform, the implementation of the green turn and the launch of the concept of a personal state. The voters gave us a mandate to make big decisions,” party leader Lauri Hussar stressed.

Today we are discussing the general principles of negotiations and technical details. The delegations will also listen to a review by the Ministry of Finance on the monetary possibilities of the state.
