Following the stabbing attack this morning (Wednesday) in the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood of Jerusalem, the number of terrorist incidents carried out by Palestinian terrorists over the past two months has risen to eight since the current wave of terrorism.
Six of them, in just two weeks. These are one shooting attack, a stampede attack and several stabbing attacks. Apart from the terrorist who shot at Jews near the Western Wall, none of them is officially identified with one of the Palestinian terrorist organizations.
But this time there is another characteristic, which indicates the intensity of the incitement to which Palestinians are exposed on a daily basis, from a young age: three of the terrorists who carried out attacks during the past month, including the last two – the checkpoint and the stabbing in Jerusalem – were carried out by minors.
The defense establishment now fears that due to the great sympathy on the Palestinian street for which the terrorists, the “heroic martyrs” and the admiration they receive among young people who go on imitation attacks, the terrorist organizations will officially join the current wave of terror, which has already erupted in full force.
Recently, the GSS, the IDF, and the Hamas organized an organization to carry out many terrorist attacks within Israeli territory, by terrorists from the Judea and Samaria territories, and not through a war in Israel from the Gaza Strip.
In contrast to the official organizations that BH manages to stop in Israel, the defense establishment has difficulty with a lone terrorist who decides to commit suicide for his own sake, although in the end, it almost always turns out that the terrorists announced in advance, implicitly or openly, on social media.
In less than three weeks, no less than six significant terrorist attacks took place, including a stabbing attack in which two border fighters were wounded by an Arab terrorist in the Old City of Jerusalem. The terrorist was shot by a security guard at the nearby Ateret Cohanim yeshiva.
The next attack took place a few days later when a terrorist opened fire near the Western Wall, killing Eli Kay Hayad and wounding others. Police forces shot at the terrorist and neutralized him. That same day, a stabbing attack in the city of Jaffa by a terrorist who fled the scene.
Last Saturday night, another stabbing attack, this time near the Nablus Gate, in which an ultra-Orthodox guy was injured. The terrorist was shot and killed. Later this week, a car bomb attack at the fig checkpoint where a security guard was injured. The terrorist was shot and killed. This morning – a stabbing attack on Shimon Hatzadik in which a woman was injured. The terrorist fled, and was later apprehended at the school where she attended.
