Former player Jerome Rothen criticized Messi after PSG was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.
Rothen alleged that Messi is not interested in playing with the club and that Messi’s performance in important competitions like the Champions League is disappearing. He was speaking on French radio station RMC.
“This is not what we want from Messi. He is not interested in joining this club. He says I have got along with the team. But what does that mean?
Messi has 18 goals and 16 assists against Angels and Clermont this year. But when it comes to important matches like the UEFA Champions League, what makes Messi disappear?

Meanwhile, the club’s maiden Champions League title dream was dashed again when German club Bayern Munich defeated PSG 2-0 in the second leg of the pre-quarter stage of the Champions League.
With this, the total defeat margin of PSG, who lost against Bayern by one goal in the first quarter match, became 3-0.
Although Bayern managed to reach the forward line several times, Messi could not break the defense of the German club. And the Bayern defense didn’t even give Messi the space to move.
PSG are currently at the top of the league table with 63 points with 20 wins from 26 matches in League One. The Paris club’s next match is against Brest FC on March 12.
