The 21st edition of the Kundé will be held on May 12, 2023 in the Banquet Hall of Ouaga 2000. The announcement was made by the General Commissioner of the Kundé this Thursday, March 9, 2023, during a press conference.
After its postponement in 2022, it is finally on May 12, 2023 that the 21st edition of the Kundé will be held. For this edition, a total of 1,130 musical works, 361 clips, 220 religious albums, 910 works of secular music, 5 works of traditional music, 163 female artists, 5 foreign artists living in Burkina Faso have been recorded on the date from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2023.
For the ”Kundéables”, that is to say the authors of more than one album eligible for the Kundé d’or, 83 artists including 71 men and 12 women were also recorded on the same date. .
According to Salfo Soré alias Jah Press, Commissioner General of Kundé, the 21st edition testifies to the resilience of Burkina Faso in the face of the security crisis that the country has been facing for several years. This event, for him, contributes to the smooth running of the country, galvanizes the defense and security forces (FDS) and brings joy to the hearts of the people.
“The Kundé are part of the same logic and the same dynamic driven by the authorities through the realization of the SIAO, through the holding of the FESPACO. This 21st edition of Kundé is part of the resilience and resistance for a standing Burkina and to support our FDS and our VDP and show to the eyes of the world, that despite this insecurity which is experienced in our country and makes many afraid , there is life in Burkina and things continue to be done as if nothing had happened”, he expressed himself.
For his part, Papus Zongo, Artistic Commissioner of Kundé, suggested during this press conference that major innovations are expected for this great cultural event. These are the Kundé music export which will be held from May 10 to 11.
In addition, he said that the Kundé music export will concern three activities, namely the kundé music export nights where the selected artists will perform live in front of the professional music buyers invited and the kundé music export networking.
Also, there are kundé music export training workshops which will take the form of sharing experiences and good practices.
