The Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), acquired 19,500 infusion devices for solutions, drugs, blood and its derivatives. These serve for the administration of exact doses, guaranteeing patient safety and the effective application of the treatment.
The medical equipment acquired is of primary and priority use for the care of patients who are in critical and semi-critical areas.
They reduce exposure to polluting agents, guarantee greater precision and safety during the supply of high-risk medications; as well as: with parenteral and enteral feeding, concentrated electrolytes and blood components.
The acquisition of these devices included technological support for 200 multifunctional pumps, a safe medication computer program, a multiparameter monitor, IV poles, among other state-of-the-art elements. This offers greater accuracy in the rhythm and flow in the drip. In addition, they are adaptable to the needs of the patient and optimize the human resource.
The implementation of the devices strengthens the emergency area, hydration, intensive care (ICU), intermediate, hospitalization, transfusion medicine and the surgical center.
Among its multiple benefits is safeguarding the physical and mental health of the collaborators of the hospital house; because it reduces, prevents and avoids accidents at work.
