This ward includes 10 streets including Kamachi Amman Koil Street, Karumbuli Veerappan Street, Ambalam Subpan Street, Mariamman Kovil Street, Jawakar Sang Street.

Pavements on the streets are damaged and crumbling as they have been built for years. The occupation has narrowed many streets. Also, due to dumping of plastic waste, waste water is blocked in many areas.

At Ambalam Subpan Street, the road has been excavated for the Thamirapharani drinking water project and has not been rebuilt. As a result, many areas are hilly and potholed, making it impossible to walk or two-wheelers. Elderly people tend to stumble at night.

As there is no sanitary facility in the ward, women have to go to the toilet in the next ward. In the area of Uchiswamy temple, the intersection of the streets is dark without electricity, so the citizens drink there and leave the bottles. Street lighting should be provided here.

The cleaning staff does not come

Adiparashakti, head of the family: In the ward, the cleaning staff does not come regularly to clean the feet. The sewers are also damaged and old, so the sewage is not able to drain properly. The municipality should take steps to build a new footbridge to drain the sewage.

Need a street light

Kalaiselva, head of the family: Street lights should be installed on Uchisamy temple street. As this area is dark, women are reluctant and afraid to go outside. A mini power pump should be set up in the same area. It is difficult without water for circulation.

Difficulty due to damaged road

Sabapati, Retired Government Officer: They moved the road for drinking water in Ambalam Subpan Street and left it as it was without repairing it. It doesn’t matter if the new road is not constructed, the municipality should take steps to make the road level.

The road will be constructed

Sankararajan, 22nd Ward Councillor: The work of laying drinking water pipe in the ward is nearing completion. After the completion of the work, the road and footpaths will be constructed on Ambalam Subpan Street.
