Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese watched and enjoyed the cricket test match between India and Australia held yesterday in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The Australian Labor Party won the parliamentary elections held in May last year in Australia. Anthony Albanese, the leader of that party, was sworn in as Prime Minister. He has visited India for the first time after taking office for a 4-day visit.
He was given a rousing welcome when he landed at the Ahmedabad International Airport in Gujarat yesterday evening. First he visited the Sabarmati Ashram. Later he participated in the Holi festival held at the Governor’s House.
The 4th Test match between India and Australia started yesterday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited to witness the match. Both were given a rousing welcome at the stadium. Both came around the stadium in a special vehicle.
After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a special cap to Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma. Similarly, the Prime Minister of the country, Anthony Albanese, gave a special hat to the captain of the Australian cricket team, Steve Smith.
The Indian Prime Minister and the Australian Prime Minister walked to the Friendship Hall as the leaders of both the teams went to the ground for the toss. Ravi Shastri, the former coach of the Indian team, told the two leaders about the special history of cricket between India and Australia.
Following this, the captains of both the teams along with the Prime Ministers of the two countries went towards the stadium. The national anthems of India and Australia were played after the introduction of the players. After this the Prime Minister of India and the Prime Minister of Australia went to the seat. Both enjoyed watching cricket matches together. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared these photos and videos on his social media pages.
After enjoying the cricket match for about half an hour, PM Modi went to the Governor’s House. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, BJP State President CR. The Prime Minister held a consultation with Patil and others.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese left Ahmedabad for Mumbai yesterday. He participated in various programs there. He visited the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant at the Mumbai Naval Base.
