The feminists? They want to get the rights by dint of profanity – Libero Quotidiano

“We are the moon that moves the tides, we will change the world with our ideas”. Who uttered such a powerful slogan? Women from student collectives and transfeminists who yesterday took to the streets in Milan on the occasion of Women’s Day. Just look at the videos circulating on the net to understand how these women who intend to revolutionize the world wanted to celebrate March 8th. I quickly come across an activist who tells us that the women’s struggle is never over and there is still a lot to do.

A lot of rhetoric and little originality one would say, but I was sure that going forward I could have found better. And so it was. “We don’t feel represented by this government at all, despite the fact that the prime minister is a woman. We don’t believe being a woman is enough to change things.” I think a celebratory day was not needed to tell us that being born female is not enough to have the patent of genius in your pocket. But rock bottom was hit with a proudly waved banner. An image painted with great detail starring the Holy Virgin. Or rather, of the Virgin there is only the Mantle, because a vagina has been represented instead of her image.

The sacred image of Mary is a vagina accompanied by the inscription «I invoke God only when I come». These women who want to turn the tide use blasphemy to appear transgressive. The shameful manifesto is supported by women who shout “Giorgia Meloni does not support the feminist struggle”. Would this be the feminist struggle to support?

THE TURNING POINT

A curse waved with pride? And you fake revolutionaries think that the prime minister could even by mistake take you into consideration? Frankly, I would have expected a triumphant March 8, because women, after so many years of struggle, have achieved the greatest result: a woman is the head of the Italian government. And no one expected it to happen. And this changes common sense in a very profound way and makes every battle of women and also every feminist battle take a sensational leap forward.

There is still a long way to go, of course, but when a woman of just over forty presents herself to journalists and proclaims “I am Giorgia Meloni and I am the Prime Minister of this nation”, anyone understands that Italy it came out of the twentieth century, from the age of males and that’s it. Until a year ago, on March 8 we always exchanged that bunch of mimosas, the males smiled at us, they were gallant, but the power was all theirs. How can you not understand that the conquest of Palazzo Chigi was the real turning point? That the principle has been affirmed that a woman, if she has the strength and talents of hers, can get where she wants, without being co-opted, without quotas, without receiving gifts from men. The glass roof has been broken through and this year was supposed to be March 8th of the apotheosis.

Feminists should have claimed this success. How successful they are. They could have said: years and years of battles, of sacrifices, of pains, but here we have arrived at the most beautiful result: a woman at the top of the nation. And if they wanted to complete the speech, they could also mention Elly Schlein, who has come to be the leader of the opposition also thanks to the monstrous boost that women have received from Giorgia’s success. You should be grateful to the Prime Minister. PS The unions wanted to celebrate March 8 with the strike of the vehicles. Leaving thousands of women on the street. Of women of the common people, because marquises generally don’t wear number 64. Nice gesture. Which shows that Italy is moving forward. But that there are always those who are left behind by a couple of light years.
