AstraZeneca, the EU lawsuit for delays and cuts in deliveries of the anti Covid vaccine starts. The European Commission “launched a legal action against AstraZeneca on Friday, based on the violation of the advance purchase agreement”. Health spokesman Stefan de Keersmaecker announced this during a press briefing in Brussels.
“The terms of the contract – continues de Keersmaecker – were not respected and the company was not in a position to present a reliable strategy to ensure timely delivery of the doses”.
“What matters to us is that we want to make sure that there is a quick delivery of a sufficient number of doses, to which European citizens are entitled and which have been promised under the contract. The Commission has initiated this legal action on its own and on behalf of the 27 Member States, which are fully aligned in supporting this procedure, “he concludes.
