Karthik Naren, 32, a resident of Third Street, Kasturibai Nagar, Adyar, Adyar, left the ground floor door open and slept in the upper room the night before yesterday.
His parents, who had gone to Varanasi, returned home in the middle of the night to find someone lying on the ground floor and shouted.
Karthik Naren heard the noise and tried to catch the person. The person who fled from there was immediately apprehended by the informed patrolling police.
After searching him who was intoxicated, the police confiscated 42 thousand rupees and 20 ‘euro’ currency notes.
On investigation, it was found that the person is Yeummalai, 27, from Kalasthambadi, Tiruvannamalai district.
It was also found that Etummalai entered Karthiknaren’s house intoxicated, stole money, ate the food in the house and the chocolates in the ‘bridge’ and slept there. The police arrested him.
