App drivers profit more from electric cars, points out platform

According to a study released by 99, app drivers who have an electric car earn more than a combustion model. The owner of an electrified vehicle can save up to 80% against a gasoline-powered one.

The study was only possible because of a partnership between 99 and the brands Banco BV, BYD, Caoa Chery, Movida, Unidas, Raízen, Enel X Way, Ez Volt, Tupinambá Energia and Zletric. During April 2022 and February of this year, these companies carried out a survey with partner drivers, who drove more than 550,000 kilometers with electric vehicles and also hybrids.

According to the 99, a driver who uses an electric vehicle spends BRL 2,500 monthly, against BRL 3,500 for a combustion car. As a result, expenses dropped to R$1,000, which increases the driver’s earnings at the end of the month.

The survey also found that drivers who drive electric cars received higher passenger ratings. According to 99, the ratings were between 4.9 and 5.0 stars. I also increase earnings from tips at the end of races.

With regard to competitor Uber, the company reports that more than 1,000 partner drivers already use electric vehicles in Latin America. In Brazil alone, the company made 200 Renault Kwid E-Tech units available for lease in 2022. In addition to having a partnership with Renault, it has partnerships with Localiza, Raízen, Tupinambá and Carrefour.

For those who intend to buy an electric car, it is necessary to know that these vehicles still have a “heavy” price. The Renault Kwid E-Tech, which is the cheapest in Brazil, costs R$ 149,990, which is close to a compact SUV and also a sedan.
