Vodafone has led the Spanish market for Internet of Things (IoT) lines until the end of January 2023 with more than 5 million active lines, of which almost one million (999,500) were obtained in 2022, representing 39% of the net additions to the market.

Specifically, this growing trend accelerated from October to December 2022 with 483,000 new lines, representing 69% of the net additions in the market in the third quarter of last year, figures that, according to Vodafone, endorse its leadership in the market. sector, with a market share that already exceeds 40%.

In global terms, Vodafone also leads the Internet of Things (IoT), since it connects more than 155 million devices and platforms, a result “fruit of the diversification strategy” of IoT products that the operator has launched in the last few years. last years.

By sectors, the company integrates Internet of Things technology into security and connected alarms, banking through means of payment, logistics operators, connected fleets, renewable energies, agriculture, asset management waste and comprehensive water management, among others.

The director of Vodafone Business, Daniel Jiménez, explained that the operator’s leadership in this market is due, “in large part”, to the innovation that they are promoting in this field and the diversification of sectors in which they are implementing it.

According to Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Worldwide IoT Connectivity Services report, Vodafone is a leader with more than 580 networks in 190 countries, including those considered challenging environments due to technology or regulatory requirements.
