The day after Neymar’s successful right ankle operation at the Aspetar center in Doha, Hakim Chalabi, the Qatari clinic’s medical director, said it was “a bit early” to talk about the striker’s return Brazilian from PSG.
The Parisian club had said before the intervention that the 31-year-old could be unavailable for up to four months. “He is doing very well and he is happy,” Hakim Chalabi told AFP. He is in no great pain and the surgeons who operated on him are very happy,” he added.
Neymar will stay at Aspetar Sports Hospital for at least two days. He will then have to undergo physiotherapy.
“We will assess later the moment of his return to the field, advances Chalabi. For the moment, it is a little early to talk about it”. The decision will be made in consultation with his surgeons after further examinations have been carried out.
According to Hakim Chalabi, Neymar “will have to move around on crutches for a few days, but then he should be able to resume bodybuilding”
After the operation, the player should return to his “normal level but with less risk of injury”, said the doctor.
