The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomed the restoration of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran and the agreement to reopen their embassies in the two countries.
In a statement it published today, Saturday, on its official page, the ministry praised the agreement, considering it a positive step that serves the interests of the two countries and the region and establishes the launch of an Arab-Iranian dialogue, and opens a new page towards developing bilateral relations, good neighborliness, and respect for the principle of state sovereignty.
The ministry said that the agreement came after continuous rounds of dialogue led by the Republic of China and Omani-Iraqi mediation, noting that this progress in the relations of the two countries reflects the commitment of all parties to prefer dialogue and peaceful methods as an alternative to resorting to violence and confrontation.
