Garrincha, the peculiar gangster created by Juan Infante, led a quiet life. Her walks, her trips with her wife to attractive destinations in Europe with the excuse of her work, the pleasant moments fishing in Olabeaga. The counterpart of that relaxed and happy existence is the convenience –or more than that– of not entering areas beyond the limits set by law. But the tranquility does not last long, especially for literary characters. And we already have Garrincha active again, based on a crime whose investigation corresponds to inspectors Sara Cohen and Miguel Fabretti, other old acquaintances of Infante readers.

The reason for Garrincha’s return to action is an a priori strange murder, assuming that they are not all. The thing is that the daughter of a French businessman and a Basque engineer, both young, are found dead in a house located in an idyllic area of woods not too far from Bilbao.

The crime immediately takes on a different character when the French authorities and their Police are involved with an interest that far exceeds the usual in these cases. Cohen and Fabretti then understand that they are facing what seems to be a matter of State, and in these circumstances the ground on which to tread is always swampy. At least for some policemen. Another thing is a gangster used to ignoring the rules at his convenience.

Infante builds a story whose action runs through the streets of a city, Bilbao, which can surprise not a few of its neighbors. And he looks at her with a penetrating look and a load of humor.
