The 2022 season turned out to be disastrous for Miedziński. A pupil of Apator Toruń, riding for the first league favorite Abramczyk Polonia Bydgoszcz, participated in a dangerous fall in Zielona Góra. It was a long fight for his life.
The athlete first regained consciousness and later returned to health and normal daily activity. Then there were voices that he did not intend to end his career definitively. Recently, even the head of GKSŻ, Piotr Szymański, spoke on this matter.
— I would like to inform you that Beata Maas, the chairwoman of the PZM Medical Team, and Adrian Miedziński met in Poznań. Adrian ponders whether to continue his career or not. That’s why he asked for this meeting. Together, we agreed that Adrian would undergo additional tests as soon as possible, most likely at the Central Sports Medicine Centre. After the research is completed, the final decision will be made – said Piotr Szymański, the chairman of GKSŻ in the second half of February in PZM media.
If the decision is positive, the second-league OK Bedmet Kolejarz Opole may be the new club of Toruń. A veritable fate has weighed on Opole in recent years. As many as three times in a row they took second place in the 2nd LŻ, so they had to do without taste when it comes to promotion to the 1st LŻ.
It seemed that they were “let go” for 2023, because they did not personally build, at least on paper, such a lineup as other favorites (including Thorssell, Aspgren and Cyfer), but if Miedziński would be in their ranks, who knows if again they would not join the fight for the desired promotion to the 1st Speedway League.
