Maccabi Tel Aviv is getting further and further away from the championship since the appointment of Aitor Karanka, who is receiving cross criticism. At the same time, his predecessor in the position, Vladan Ivitch, is on the opposite trend in Russia. Yesterday (Saturday) his Krasnodar’s 1:3 victory over Slavisha Jokanovic’s Dynamo Moscow and Eli Desa drew a lot of praise for the Serbian coach in the Russian media.
“Ivić made a school for Jokanović in the Serbian derby”, they wrote this morning in Russia, after Krasnodar beat Dynamo for the first time after 9 consecutive meetings. It was Ivic’s first league win in the role, but the commentators who doubted him and perhaps even underestimated him when he was appointed to the role, are starting to appreciate him. “The game was decided in favor of Krasnodar thanks to the brilliance of Ivić, who diverted his fastest attacking player to the wing, and attacked Dynamo through the weak link – the defenders”, they wrote in “Championat”, referring, among other things, to Eli Desa, who used to attack a lot. “Ivić improvised and hit, while Jokanović couldn’t find an answer. In the meeting between the two Serbian coaches, it was proven who is the best of them.”
Jokanovic even praised Ivic at the end of the match and defined him as “one of the best young coaches to come out of Serbia” and “great promise”. Ivić said in response to Yukanović’s words: “It’s nice to hear a compliment from a coach like him. He was successful in every team he coached, I have enormous respect for him.”
