Time.news – A few days ago Disney+ unveiled the official trailer of the highly anticipated documentary “Bono & The Edge A SORT OF HOMECOMING con David Letterman”, which will be available on the streaming platform worldwide on March 17, St. Patrick’s Day.

On the same day, the highly anticipated U2 album “Songs Of Surrender” will be launched, a collection of 40 songs culled from across the band’s catalogue, re-recorded and re-imagined. Furthermore, on Friday 17 March, “Bono & The Edge A SORT OF HOMECOMING with David Letterman” will be presented during the Ireland Film Festival at the Anteo Palazzo del Cinema in Milan on the occasion of the second edition of Ireland Week, a widespread event that makes tribute to Irish culture, traditions, history and gastronomy, which will be held from 12 to 19 March in the Lombard capital.

In the documentary special, produced by Disney Branded Television, Oscar-winning director Morgan Neville immortalized Dave Letterman during his first visit to Dublin to meet Bono and The Edge in their hometown, discover the city and join the two U2 musicians for a concert never seen before.

From Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Documentaries, Neville’s Tremolo Productions and Dave Letterman’s Worldwide Pants, “Bono & The Edge A SORT OF HOMECOMING Starring David Letterman” is part concert film, part adventure travel with a large participation of Bono and The Edge combined with the humor of Letterman, one of the best known and most loved Late Show hosts in the history of American TV.

In addition to the concert itself, the documentary special will focus on the extraordinary relationship between Bono and The Edge and how it developed over 45 years of close friendship, to become one of the most extraordinary collaborations in the history of rock ‘n’ roll, as well as documenting Dublin through the eyes of Letterman who visits the hometown of Bono and The Edge, the places where U2 materialized.

Letterman has a 25-year connection to the band, as well as being the guest of honor at an intimate concert at an iconic venue, the former Ambassador Cinema building at the top of O’Connell Street on the Northside of Dublin host and comedian embarks on his own exploration of the city. He visits the legendary Forty Foot bathing spot on a freezing morning and takes the DART commuter train north from Co. Wicklow.

Letterman also inspires a new U2 song written by The Edge and Bono and narrowly avoids having to perform a chant at the legendary McDaid’s pub on Grafton Street with an equally legendary group of artists and musicians, including Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová , Imelda May, Loah, Saint Sister, Grian Chatten of the DC Fontaines and Dermot Kennedy, whose voice Bono describes as a “sonic boom”. In short, “Bono & The Edge A SORT OF HOMECOMING with David Letterman” is a way to look at the history and places that have contributed to the formation of one of the most important bands in history through the eyes of one of the most lucid analysts of the contemporary world.
