Two months after the incident, in November, the schoolgirls suffered physical injuries one after another.
Medical examination of the affected students revealed that their bodies were poisoned. Following this, in the investigation conducted in more than 200 schools where the students studied, more than 100 people involved in this incident have been arrested.
This incident, which happened to prevent girls from going to school, has caused fear and anger among parents.
Iran’s Ministry of Interior said that many of those arrested were involved in this act to prevent terrorism among students and people, and also acted with the intention of closing schools.
The Iranian government suspects that those involved are linked to the terrorist movement People’s Mujahideen or Mujahideen-e-Khalq.
