The Hollywood awards season reached its peak tonight (Monday) with the 95th Academy Awards ceremony taking place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. In the ceremony, which is hosted by the comedian and TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel for the third time, ten films compete for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
So far, the science fiction film “Everything Everywhere at Once” has won three Oscars – for the best original screenplay, for the supporting actor Ki Hoi Kwan and for the supporting actress Jamie Lee Curtis. For both players this is their first nomination for this award. Kwan dedicated the award to his mother, who watched the ceremony from her home, and to his wife. Curtis dedicated the award to her sister, husband, viewers and her late parents – actors Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, who were nominated for an Oscar and never won it.

The award for the best full-length documentary film was awarded to the creators of the film “Navalni”. Besides the various creators, including the director of the film Daniel Rohr, the wife of the political activist who has been in a Russian prison since 2021 also took the stage. “Thank you to everyone here,” said Yulia Navalny. “My husband is in prison only because he told the truth. My husband is in prison only because of the defense of democracy. Alexey, I dream of the day when you will be free and our country will be free. Stay strong.”
The German production “There’s Nothing New in the West” picked up four awards – for Best International Film, Best Cinematography, Best Art Design and Best Original Soundtrack. “Guillermo del Toro Presents: Pinocchio” won the award for Best Animated Feature Film.
The list of candidates was led this year by “everything everywhere at once” with no less than 11 nominations. The films “There is nothing new in the West” and “Ghosts of Inishreen” are nominated for nine awards each.
The awards ceremony is broadcast live on yes Movies DRAMA channel on yes and STING TV. The edited and translated ceremony will be broadcast tomorrow (Tuesday) at 21:00 on yes Movies DRAMA channel on yes and STING TV.
