Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition has demanded a CBI probe into the fire at the Brahmapuram garbage plant. After the emergency resolution was denied, the opposition boycotted the assembly proceedings. VD Satheesan accused the Ministers of being provocative in their replies on a crucial issue in the Assembly. The inquiry was not conducted to protect the contractors. The government has given clean certificate to the contract company. The opposition leader said that the Chief Minister will not touch this issue.

This can lead to diseases including cancer. Asked on what basis the health minister said that there is no health problem in Kochi, he said that there is even a situation where a health emergency has to be declared. The leader of the opposition accused the government of justifying the company which had been burnt by pouring petrol and did not conduct an investigation because it was needed and did not even conduct a preliminary investigation after 12 days.
