Surreal scene this Sunday in Nantes. As Ouest-France explains, a young player from FC Nantes, who was opposed at 2:30 p.m. to AS Monaco in the quarter-finals of the Coupe Gambardella, was hit and threatened by a man armed with a knife in mid -time. There would, a priori, have been no injury.
Without knowing the reasons at this stage, a fight broke out in the stands of the Marcel-Saupin stadium, involving a total of twenty people. After his attack, the FC Nantes player took refuge in the locker room while five police crews called in for reinforcements came at 4:30 p.m. to calm the very tense situation.
In the meantime, the alleged assailant has left the scene. According to the daily, the attacked player did not wish to file a complaint and his team was eliminated (0-1) with a Monegasque goal scored half an hour into the game.
