Why was Rohit Sharma appointed ODI captain? – Saurav Ganguly Description |

by time news

Congratulations to Rohit Sharma on his performance as ODI captain. Chairman Saurav Ganguly said.

Mumbai:

Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the T20 captain of the Indian cricket team following the recent resignation of Virat Kohli from the post of T20 captain of the Indian cricket team.

The Indian Cricket Board has named Rohit Sharma as captain for the one-day series against South Africa. Rohit Sharma will continue his captaincy of the ODI series against South Africa in January.

In this connection, the BCCI Chairman Saurav Ganguly said:

The Indian Cricket Board has asked Virat Kohli not to step down as T20 captain. But he stepped down as T20 captain. Consequently, the team selectors felt that it would not be appropriate to have two captains for two white ball forms. So it was decided to make Rohit the captain of the ODI series as well. We have full confidence in the leadership skills of Rohit Sharma.

Also, Virat Kohli will continue as captain in Test matches. We believe that Indian cricket is in the hands of the best players. We would like to thank Virat Kohli for his contribution as captain in the form of white ball.
