Former Muslim celebrates ‘outpouring of the Holy Spirit’ and prayers

The testimony of an ex-Muslim about the way God has acted to save the lives of countless people in the Middle East is yet another example that inspires missionary work in the region.

According to the young woman who did not have her real name revealed for security reasons, there is a real “outpouring of the Holy Spirit” in the country where she lives, thanks to the mobilization of thousands of Christians in prayer.

“I never thought of following Christianity before. I went to Buddhism and all these other things, but for some reason there was a kind of blockage”, said the young woman when remembering her trajectory of beliefs, until she found Jesus.

According to information from the organization Portas Abertas, the young woman born into a Muslim family found herself even more welcomed by God after the death of her father. Feeling alone, she noticed how Christ warmly demonstrated his love for her.

“The Lord gave me what I always wanted and what was my heart’s desire: to know the truth,” she said. “Since coming to Christ, I have definitely learned what it means to be part of God’s family. I don’t feel alone anymore.”

The young woman, now an ex-Muslim, is convinced that she has a duty to share God’s grace with others. She attributes her salvation primarily to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, as well as to the prayers of Christians who want to reach the Muslim world.

“I honestly didn’t expect there to be so many people praying for the Middle East to come to Christ and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. These prayers have affected me and others who live in this region, who have found the truth and seen the light,” said the young woman.

“My hope is that I continue to really learn what it means to follow Jesus so that I can lead others and set an example,” he concludes.
