He accuses the formation of “instrumentalizing” the foreign policy of the African country

MADRID, 13 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

King Mohamed VI of Morocco has branded this Monday as “irresponsible” and “dangerous” the position of the opposition Justice and Development Party (PJD) on the latest wave of violence in the West Bank in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Thus, the monarch has indicated that he has warned that the opposition has “exceeded” on an issue that concerns relations between Morocco and Israel and has stressed in a statement that Morocco’s position on the Palestinian issue is “irreversible” and one of its main foreign policy priorities.

In this sense, he has clarified that this issue is “at the same level as the territorial integrity of the kingdom” and has affirmed that there are a series of “principles” on the part of Morocco that “cannot be the object of political bids and electoral campaigns”. , according to a statement from the Royal Cabinet.

“Under the Constitution, the foreign policy of the kingdom is a prerogative of His Majesty the King, (…) which he exercises in accordance with national constants and the supreme interests of the homeland, headed by the question of territorial integrity “, picks up the text.

In addition, he maintains that Morocco’s international relations “cannot be the object of blackmail, especially in the complex global context.” “The instrumentalization of the kingdom’s foreign policy in an internal partisan agenda thus constitutes a dangerous and unacceptable precedent”, he has continued.

Finally, he recalled that “the active forces of the nation, the political parties and some prominent personalities, as well as some associative instances that militate for the Palestinian question, were then informed of this decision, towards which they expressed their support and commitment “.

Last week, the PJD accused the Moroccan authorities of defending the “Zionist entity” in the context of the attacks perpetrated against Palestinians and asked for increased measures to defend them.
