Charging from 0 to 100 in 15 minutes

by time news

While battery technology advances at a slow pace, the rate of charging actually continues to increase. After Xiaomi introduced the possibility of charging at a rate of 300 watts, the phone manufacturer Infinix announced support for fast charging of 260 watts and wireless charging of 110 watts.

The technology, called by the company All-Round FastCharge, will allow wired charging of the phone from 0% to 25% in one minute, and full charging of the battery to 100% in less than 8 minutes. For comparison, Xiaomi’s charging technology at 300 watts allows a full charge in 5 minutes, but in the case of Infinix there is already an actual product.

As far as wireless charging is concerned, All-Round FastCharge allows a charging rate of 110 watts – which is currently considered the highest power on the market. The company says that full wireless charging from 0% to 100% will take place in about 16 minutes, a fast figure even compared to most of the charging technologies currently accepted in the market.

Infinix emphasizes various problems that may arise during intensive charging that can cause high heating of the phone and among other things it uses four wide and large coil circuits that reduce the internal resistance and thus protect against an increase in temperature. The technology also supports reverse charging in industry standard protocols.

According to the company, the charging efficiency is 98.5% when the data refers to a 4,400 mAh battery, which can maintain 90% of its initial capacity after 1,000 charge/discharge cycles. Equally important is the charging cable, for which the company also has a solution capable of carrying an extremely high current of 13 amps to ensure a 260 watt charge.
