World nations mourn Bipin Rawat’s death – NEWS 360 – WORLD

Washington: The death of India’s first joint military chief Bipin Rawat has come as a shock to the world. Many countries around the world including the United States, Britain, France, Russia and the UAE offered their condolences.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin has expressed grief over the untimely death of Bipin Rawat. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that the death of Bipin Rawat was a great loss. Russian Ambassador to India Nikolai Kudashev tweeted that Bipin Rawat had been instrumental in strengthening bilateral ties between India and Russia.

He said he had lost a close friend and shared India’s grief. Maldives President Ibrahim Mohammed Saleh said he was “deeply saddened” by the news of Bipin Rawat’s death. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its condolences to the Government of India and the families of those killed in the helicopter crash that left 13 people dead, including the wife and joint Chief of Staff of India.

Condolences were also extended by the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Duba, the Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotte Shering, the French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenin and the Minister of Defense Benny Gents of Israel.
