It is also gratifying that the short documentary The Elephant Whisperers, about the Pomman-Pelli couple who care for helpless baby elephants in Mudumalai, has won an Oscar. Kudos to the film’s director Karthiki and producer Kuneeth Monga!

The sacrifice of the Bomman-Pelli couple who have devoted their lives to caring for helpless baby elephants is admirable. Even now, Bomman is engaged in searching for the cubs of the 3 elephants that died recently in Dharmapuri. Kudos to them!”
