Walk from Valancherry to Makkah; Shihab Chotoor reached Iraq after passing through Iran

Malappuram: Shihab Chotoor, a native of Kanjipura who started the Hajj journey on foot crossed Iran and reached Iraq. After Iraq, if you cross Kuwait, you can enter Saudi Arabia. With this, this young man is hoping that his dream of performing Hajj on foot will blossom.

Shihab will visit various places including Karbala and Najaf which are major pilgrimage centers in Iraq before going to Kuwait. Shihab Chotur Hajj started on 2nd June 2022 on foot. Shihab’s journey reached the Indian border in September after traveling through various states of India.

The problem with the visa to enter Pakistan put the trip in jeopardy. Shihab faced delay in getting transit visa. He was granted a Pakistan transit visa and entered Pakistan after staying at Afia School in Wagah Arti for four months. The journey continued through Pakistan and later reached Iran. Due to the issue of national security, he reached Iran by plane.

Shihab Yatra started from Malappuram Valanchery to reach Makkah by walking 8640 km to be a part of 2023 Hajj. The journey is arranged in such a way that it will reach Pakistan through Wagah border and from there it will reach Saudi Arabia through Iran, Iraq and Kuwait.

After a four-month long wait, Shihab Chotoor reached Pakistan and will now travel to Iran
