Animal has difficulty swimming because of his condition; experts believe she may reappear because she appears to be disoriented
A Fin Whale with scoliosis, about 17 meters long, was seen on Cullera beach, Costa da Spain, during the weekend. The record was shared on social media by Fundación Biodiversidad, which reported that the animal cannot swim properly because of the injury, as you can see in the video. Police officers who spotted the animal, at first, thought it was caught in a fishing net and called the specialists at the Oceanográfico de Valencia – the largest aquarium in the city. Europa -, who detected that the whale had a problem in the spine. “Oceanographic biologists and veterinarians were able to evaluate the example and detected that it was not trapped, but that it was suffering a serious deviation in its spine; a scoliosis of unknown origin that altered her normal anatomy,” the experts said in a statement. Although the animal managed to return to the high seas, it is believed that she may reappear because she may be disoriented due to her condition.
