The Port of Tenerife will implement an advanced service management system

The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain) plans to implement an advanced service management system with which it can centralize all the operations it provides within its port community, that is, a Port Community System, or PCS for its acronym in English.

Through this project, we want to facilitate the intelligent and secure exchange of information between interested parties, public and private, in order to optimize the competitive position of the enclave.

What’s more, the new system improves, manages and automates port and logistics processes through a single shipment of data, uniting the transport and logistics chains. Also, this tool eliminates the point-to-point transfer of information without centralization.

Among the benefits it provides, the reuse of data and information for the request, authorization and provision of services stands out, as well as for the approval of the necessary procedures so that land, maritime and rail traffic is continuous in the logistics chain. that forms that port community.

The bidding for this project is divided into two phases. Firstly, an analysis and bidding of the initiative will be carried out, and later the project management and exploitation of the PCS will be carried out.

The file has a term of thirty months, a base tender budget of 138,030 euros, as well as an estimated contract value of 143,500 euros.

Another project that the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has in hand is the installation of a new internal system for the electrical supply to refrigerated containers. Because the noise generated by the motors of the refrigerated containers has been the cause of many complaints in the area, those responsible for the Tenerife enclave have decided to take measures in this regard.
