With this, Haller has reached the list of the few players who have scored ten or more goals in the Champions League group stage. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Rude van Nistelrooy have achieved this feat before.
Ronaldo holds the record for most goals scored in a Champions League group stage, scoring eleven goals in the 2015/16 season. Lionel Messi scored ten goals in the group stage in the 2016/17 season, while Lewandowski scored ten goals in the 2019/20 season. Nistelrooy, who first set the record, scored ten goals in the Champions League group in the 2002/03 season.

Ronaldo became the first player to score in all group matches in the 2017/18 season. Haller, meanwhile, is playing in the Champions League for the first time, making him the only player to score in the first six games of the Champions League.
Ajax’s performance this season, along with Sebastian Haller’s goal, deserves special mention. They won every match in the Champions League group stage, scoring twenty goals. They surprised everyone by reaching the semis in the 2018/19 season and may show a similar leap this season as well.
