Palladam: On the occasion of the demise of the President of the Powerloom Owners Association, a tree sapling was planted in the Prasandpetta Pleasure Park to pay a green tribute.
Coimbatore, Tirupur District Powerloom Owners Association President Palaniswami and his wife Karuppatthal died in succession. On the occasion of their demise, a tribute program was held at the Prasabpettaya Malayavanam Botanical Garden.
Coimbatore, Tirupur District Powerloom Owners Association Secretary Kumaraswamy presided. Kodangi Palayam panchayat president Palaniswami presided. On this occasion, 50 saplings were planted as a tribute to the death of the head of the powerloom association.
Panchayat President Palaniswami said, “In memory of Somanur Powerloom Association President Palaniswami, a new forest will be created and it will be named ‘Somanur Gandhi Palaniswami Forest’.”
In that, 1,100 saplings will be planted and maintained on behalf of the association’s 110 branches at the rate of ten per branch.
